about

I heard a line in 2006… “a cool breeze heavenly fan due east and I steadily ran”. I heard that line in my head, as I marched across the stock yard at John Deere in Grovetown Georgia. That summer the temperature made it 117 degrees outside with the heat index included it was kind of rough. That line kept me going. This song is a journey, through the insides of an artist, through all of the hardship of being a being who just wants to be seen and heard. To that end I imagine we are all artists, whether we display media or we are actors trying to find our roles’. It’s strange though, the pot of gold, I imagined initially is so much different than what I imagine now to be the most important thing. The expectations are so much different- But the rewards still taste the same... Its wild, but for emotions, and the right to feel we ‘fell from heaven’, whatever that means to you. The blessing is the feelings’, that is the goal-

lyrics

Verse 1
When the world gets cold I know where to go/ deep inside my body and til’ I find my soul/ harvest every bit of hope and then I’ll row/ harvest every bit of hope and then I’ll row my boat/ hold my own/an know my thrown/ is just beyond the valleys and the mountains of snow/ through the wrath of hell/ we chose the road/ the fold we hold closed/ through trolls and pay tolls/ and shows that straight blow/a stage and angels/ looking in your eyes I’m seeing the same glow/ breathing fog in the frost ya iris’s halo/ lost in labyrinths of passion and classical trade shows/ where people only go to see folks that they know/ sooner my demeanor is that of a jade stone/ angry and alone I’m singing the same song.

Chorus
2x
A cool breeze heavenly fan/ due east and I steadily ran/ steadily ran

Verse 2
I’m/ Embittered/ like Tabasco and a chicken gizzard/ the longest winter always has to have a blizzard/ and every blizzard needs some cognac warming in a snifter/ and every glass needs a set of lips to kiss her/ parle off my knack to be a trickster/ gesture off a twister and another sip of liquor/ slip into the distance after dinner with a sinner/ under my skin like she’s splinter and she cursed me with the ‘thinner’/ and a picture ‘just a memory’ the scent of sleeping with her/ fire to the ashes now I only have an ember/ but we’ll always have December/ moving past the timber line to where the air is thin/ voices in the night have the hero scared to live/ normally he’s arrogant/ but its obvious he’s broken and a single parent kid/ subconsciously he molded another three the same as him/ so they would know the world form the way he had to live.

Chorus
2x
A cool breeze heavenly fan/ due east and I steadily ran/ steadily ran

Verse 3
So we run and we run and we never look back/ til kingdom come lightning rains and a thunderous crash/ the nightmares and drunk slumber attacks in numbers that pass/ Fortunado of Amontillados’ Cask/ when the thicket turns to grass and I reach my destination/ my crowns within the walls of a castle thats in blazes/ and my fascination lingers/ as I’m half awaiting singers/ to tell the tale of dreamers/ fighters and believers/ fathers turned to paupers/ glass slippers turned to sneakers/ and a life that steady poppin like the signal in a speaker / the teacher turned to chaos to bring him to the ether/ a god that fell from heaven for a dayjob and a fever/ the monster giving blessings on the pulpit with the preacher/ the saga living legends and a melancholy meter/ on my honor through incarcerated peasants a speaker/ I’ll fall from heaven for a day job and a fever/

Chorus
2x
A cool breeze heavenly fan/ due east and I steadily ran/ steadily ran
