about

AS it turns out I, (Saint Tellah, presently at your service) have a knack for being able to bring people together over food. As it turns out DJ Robzilla also has a knack for bringing people together – for him its more because of the music he spins … both of us are nice I guess, anyhow. We held a dinner over at Rob's house for a wad of our friends and we asked them to invite their friends; we made vegetarian food – most of our friends are vegetarian. I just really think that the fun and the mood that we had on that fateful day was one that warranted a feel good song, even if no talking mouse saves a haphazard cat from himself. They say at any comic book company the best thing you can do to get someones attention with your art is to draw things that are every day and normal, they say make those things exciting and then you have learned the art of storytelling with your pictures… that gave me a lot of inspiration. I hope you like one of our plain ole’ days.

lyrics

Verse
I rode my bike to Publix by my house around the corner / Said what up to Roger – held the door for someones daughter / the door was automatic so I did it more to watch her / but I didnt make an offer because I don't need all the static the baggage or the history behind my air mattress / she got me ripe and ready fresh to pick my produce / the fridge was on E so I had to cop some more juice / saw my ex in aisle seven holding on an ole dude / – you know they try and flaunt and show you, vying for history really she was old news / ah ha tortillas and some cold brews / find a pretty cashier line for me to go through / damn she was slow and lane six was moving faster / the cashier wasnt pretty but Rogers my favorite bagger.

Chorus
Its just one of those days led to one of those nights / where every body played and nobody fights / its just one of those nights led to one of those nights / its just

Verse 2
I hit my people and my people hit they people / they know I cooks good and my peoples like to eat food / did it and a redo no we bout to snatch a rerun / poppin' snacks for lunch / supper is in the evening / Robs condos the best for coolin with friends / its gotta lotta table space and a pool to swim / to legit to quit and so we never ever stop / bringing people together so we elevate the cause like water melons, grill sand bar b cue sauce / kids chasing ice cream trucks a metaphor for chasing dreams / so- get the roots if your trying to pull the weeds and / watch- the leaves if they're coming in threes / move at the speed of life and come kick it me / I'm just a Puerto Rican dish cleaning fish in the sea / the type of young man that grandmothers kiss on the cheek

Chorus 2
Its just one of those days led to one of those nights/ where every body played and nobody fights/ its just one of those nights led to one of those nights/ its just

Verse 3
Ding ding ding!
Garlic butter and shallots how I like to start my saute / end with dinner bells and thats how we start the party / nobodies stingy and so its straight to spread the buffet / add utensils garnish the food then its looking lovely / burned back an L and went to war with munchies / I wasn't hungry, motherfucker I'm feeling FUNGRY / and I coulda turned that fridge out form here to Sunday / in those moments for what ever its worth / I swear to god I saw the people who'd inherit the earth / and contemplated em hard when preparing this verse / is the universe Styx if earth is carrying souls / and that chariot burned as it carried home / in those moments for what ever its worth / I swear to god I saw the people who'd inherit the earth / and contemplated em' hard when preparin' this verse / is the universe Styx if earth is carrying souls / and that chariot burned as it carried us home

Chorus 3
Its just one of those days led to one of those nights/ where every body played and nobody fights/ its just one of those nights led to one of those nights/ its just
