about

The beat started off and I freaked out, they were voices in my head that had manifested into actual noise from a speaker. I suppose we all have our doubts’; about life, love, the future, the now and what if I am making the wrong choices in each turn. When I look at the person who I am and start to think about the choices that led me here more than a few eggs had to break to get this omelet. When the now seems less gratifying than the weight of sacrifice you start to wonder about yourself… So I tried to convince myself while dealing with those questions, that this is all worth it, that every moment that I get to breath this art and see those new souls come out to the venues that have been the field of play for so many acts throughout time, is another moment I am living in paradise. By the end of the song the mood drifts into one that embraces all of the negative that molded me; and my willingness to play the game with that deck. It was a refreshing release to get it out on paper… Lots of really good shit in this song, I keep on wanting to write more after thoughts on it, but damn just listen, and read it, and pay close attention- You’ll see why it’s hard for me to stop here.

lyrics

Verse1
Dissatisfied with the life that I’ve subscribed/ constantly question whether or not I’m living right/ if this is truly living underneath the city lights/ let me dodge the ending let me skip the finish lines/ given a little time maybe I could mend the pieces/ complete it/ reach a brand new zenith/ phoenix and ashes rise/ ya’ll know the meaning/ even if I acted like I cared for a minute (meee-nut)/ grab what you can and if your strong then you should squeeze it/ run into the east suns dawn and you could reach it/ dreams exists for touching/ beats are meant for freaking/ seams are ripped from busting and bleeding like autumn leaves/ I got the type of luggage that you carry underneath/ but I share it with the public so people are scared of me/ and though they act disgusted really its therapy/ cause I dare to be a rarity ferrying clarity-
Chorus
2xLooking in the mirror and I thought I saw a monster/ broke my own reflection and I started staring longer; / barely father, barely son, barely man, barely one/ hardly living though the job is barely done.
Verse2
My yin and yang are at a stand still/ that war will be the death of me/ its nothing I can’t handle/ I’ll cross the Delaware in heavy freeze/ pulling my axe up off the anvil steady chopping cherry trees/ I used to be handsome but now I’m rocking harry cheeks/ singing a fools anthem til’ the day they bury me/ born in the angst and the tidings of youth/ and a mother with disdain for the life that she knew/ fortunately pain became primordial soup/ and the mortar was thick laid with Kevorkian tool/ we all lambs to the slaughter I’m just given em’ food/ nudie magazines cigarettes and liquor to boot/ deaths a certainty I’m trying to get in the mood/ by watching movies that are deep because the viewers confused/ getting my yellow five on while I’m doing the dew/ with differing views/ embalming a tune/ Anubis imbued/ its all in the proof and the proof is in the/ looking-
Chorus
2xLooking in the mirror and I thought I saw a monster/ broke my own reflection and I started staring longer; / barely father, barely son, barely man, barely one/ hardly living though the job is barely done.
