about

BWI – thats the abrevistion for the international airport that services Baltimore, Maryland; thats where my daughter lives, and that my friends it where I wrote this song. It came up for two reasons, 1) I wanted to write a hip-hop song that would be cool for kid's like really really cool for kid. And 2) because all these hard ass dudes that run around rapping about “tough”, “gangsster things and actually making them sound boring and or just sounding hella week on the track. Now what do you do- when you're some one who came up on “The Little Mermaid” and a Tom Hanks flick called “Splash” – add the fact that we live in Florida, and by George you have a fancy little song about a man and a mermaid- And another brief but interesting side note- a gentleman named Michael Cormier at one point in time once recommended that we go on tour to hit all of the 'Saint” and 'Fort' beach cities in Florida, and there-in lies the inspiration for the line regarding not remmemebring a beaches name but knowing it was a “Saint or a Fort”. I hope you enjoy the story of “Princess Blacktides”

lyrics

Verse 1
I saw water lappin' and a mermaid came to shore/ don't remember the beach but it was a saint or a fort/ she loved to swim but said that sailing was more/ her flavor this sort/ of small talk made a raport/ she ain’t never had a chance to go where we been/ her daddy was the king of the sea and she lived to please em'/ she had some brothers and their wifey's gave her nieces/ she'd seen the candy rappers but she asked “what up with reeces?”/ my reply “chocolate peanut butter and no wrong way to eat it”/ she said “that sounds good would you please stop teasing?”/ I laughed “feet's (yes feet's) are for walking and fins are for swimming”/ she replied “if you kiss me then these fins will be finished”/ she was sincere, I said “Idig it” / on my prince shit believing fairy tales a grown man/ a kiss gave her legs she walked and so we hold hands / I had a lot of loves but barely felt this type of romance/

Chorus 2x
So lemme' tell you bout' misses, misses /
Princess/ Blacktides / Knew you in a past life/
Looks mean thank God she act nice/
Looks mean thank God she act nice

Verse 2
She wanted to learn all that I could teach her/ she had heard of music but had never seen a speaker/ she knew about Saturday nights but not the fever/ knew that I had to feed her and then we'd go dancing/ went to EYE-HOP and even that was romantic/ casual conversations and a couple “oh damn-its” / I broke down pancakes syrup and grits/ coffee, cream, sugar , and stirring it in/ she smiled – she liked to sip-it/
“word” I was nervous as hell for really really/ “word” I tried to play it cool and keep it chilly/ “word” I asked the waitress if she'd bring the bill please/ I settled up the bill and then we slid stage left/ she burped and you could tell that she just ate egg's/ and that was straight to me/ see I wasn't hating / cuz I knew when I burped that you could smell I ate bacon/

Chorus 2x
So lemme' tell you bout' misses, misses /
Princess/ Blacktides / Knew you in a past life/
Looks mean thank God she act nice/
Looks mean thank God she act nice

Verse 3
I had to ditch the bacon now my breath was pepperminted/ underwater dancing has a different defintion / Imma hit her with the Oxford and a couple extra kisses/ went from her royal purples to an out fit that was fitted/ it was Christmas in July and her lips was on my wish list/ and she wrapped em' in a beautiful face cause she was pertty/ Lord! Nah, she ain't have mercy/ got men breaking they necks and all needing gurneys/ eyes hit the frame it was like a fiend returninig/ dancefloor my hands in the small of her back/ she went from amateur to pro and that was all in a flash/ that night I danced harder than I dance in my life/ far as I knew I had my hands on a wife/ but how the constellations got to fool my strarry eyes/ she said she had to use the bathroom but left eth bar behaind/ that night the tide left a mark on my mind/

Chorus
So lemme' tell you bout' misses, misses /
Princess/ Blacktides / Knew you in a past life/
Looks mean thank God she act nice/
Looks mean thank God she acted nice/
